Privacy notice
Last updated 16 October 2026
Spawnpoint collects as little as it can. There are no accounts, no ads and no tracking cookies. the site operator is responsible for the data described here; contact us at the contact email on the Safety page.
What we collect
- When you play or rate a game: a random ID created in your browser. It is not linked to your name, and we store only a scrambled version of it. It lets us count one play per day and one rating per player.
- To limit spam: a scrambled version of your network address that changes every day. It can’t be used to identify you or to link your visits across days.
- When you upload a game: the game file and store page, and the creator name you choose. These are public once approved. Your email is optional, stays private, and is only used to contact you about your game.
- When you report a game or appeal: what you write, and your email if you choose to give it.
- Game progress: saves stay in your own browser. We never receive them.
What games can and can’t do
Games run in a sandbox that cannot read anything from Spawnpoint or open other websites. Most games have no network access at all. Games with online multiplayer can reach only the matchmaking servers the moderator approved, which are listed on their store page. Online play connects you directly to other players, so they can see your IP address, which can show roughly where you are.
Who else handles the data
Cloudflare hosts Spawnpoint, stores its database and files, and runs the bot check on uploads and reports. Cloudflare processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Why we use it
We use this data because we have a legitimate interest in running Spawnpoint, keeping it safe and preventing abuse. If you give us your email, we also use it to reply to you.
How long we keep it
- Games, store pages, play counts and ratings: until the game is deleted.
- Creator emails: until the game is deleted.
- Reports, appeals and the moderation log: up to two years, so we have a record of safety decisions.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to see, correct or delete data about you, or object to how we use it. Contact us at the contact email on the Safety page. You can delete a game you uploaded at any time from Your games. If you’re unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
